Studies have found that children who experience or are exposed to physical and/or emotional abuse tend to replicate their violent experience in their own adult lives. We are designed to recreate the familiar and if an abusive atmosphere is familiar then that is the atmosphere we are drawn to.
Children exposed to sustained abuse whether they experience themselves or witness it come to expect it as the norm. They are used to identifying with the helplessness of their mothers and their fathers’ alternating outbursts of affection and violence. They unconsciously develop a perception of themselves that they have no control.
As adults these traumatised children try to give their partners and children what they never had, love, competency and exemplary behaviour but fail. When they fail they blame themselves and often turn to numbing their emotions with drugs or alcohol or both and the violence starts again as it did with their own parents.
Interestingly, nonhuman primates subjected to early abuse and deprivation also are more likely to engage in violent relationships with their peers as adults. As in humans, males tend to be hyper aggressive, and females fail to protect themselves and their offspring against danger. Neither sex develops the capacity for sustained peaceful social interactions.
Analytical Hypnotherapy is not a quick fix but a powerful process of self discovery where the childhood abuse is safely explored and filed in the mind so it is no longer sensitive to triggers from the past. The therapy permanently resolves a destructive dynamic that keeps getting worse if nothing is done about it. The therapy normally takes about 12 sessions.
If you are looking for a new beginning then you have to look under the hood of your mind where all your childhood programs are stored.
